Just Home - 2011 Mocha HHR - Iowa
Hello people~
I've just purchased a 2011 HHR with 27,600 miles, manual transmission.
As with most of my vehicles, I join whatever board I can find info and help on, and so thanks in advance.
I'm in Des Moines, Iowa. I like the laughing corn, nice.
This HHR will generally only be used in town and not very many long trips. I'll average 2000-3000 miles a year so I'm hoping not too many repairs to be made in the next 10 years.
I did check Consumer Reports and this website before buying and I was a bit hesitant - I know some GM vehicles can be a nightmare of repair. But, the HHR fit the bill, and came as one of those Certified Vehicles from the Chevy Dealer.
So, it's now in my driveway, taking the place of a small pickup (2001 GMC ZR2 Sonoma - it was nice).
I also have a couple of old Toyota 4x4 for off-roading and a 1996 Yukon for pulling the green 4runner.
I was going to post a picture of the HHR but my control panel seems to missing the 'Pictures & Albums' link, and then clicking on 'Add Album'. Maybe I need a minimum number of posts before I can create gallery albums?

OK, I got impatient and uploaded a picture to my website and will host from there. Happy to help.
Since I'm replying to my own introduction post (LAME), I might as well ask a question - um, does the color look brown\mocha to you guys?
Looks like just a dark pewter to me. But I am colorblind to a small extent - with grey\green. Maybe brown too.

Welcome to the site.
I think Mocha Steel Metallic is the GM name. Here's a link to some pictures.

Thanks guys for the welcome -
Hey, this color thing is fun! I've just spent a few minutes trying to figure out exactly what color MY HHR is. The thread linked above by FireManGeorge appears to show the color I have "Mocha Steel Metallic", but the creamy colored picture posted above (by CJ Crouse) must be something else.
Google image search shows mostly what we expect
BUT!
Checked my paint code from the glove box~
The paint code is 706S, correct?
Google that and this paint dealer shows mocha not even available in 2011 and that 706S is "Magna Steel Metallic". I think maybe they've made a mistake.
BUT WAIT!
Actually, according to
So, it appears the correct answer is that, on the Chevrolet HHR's, the correct name is Magna Steel Metallic.
Although the Chevy Dealer had listed it as Mocha and also shows "Brown" on a couple of documents. Go figure.
Hope that Helps.
