New 09 SS Owner
Hi, just picked up a used 2009 HHR SS with a 5-speed and the competition package two days ago. I'm reasonably certain the car used to belong to a user here named mr_Jekyll, and it appears to have a catback and powder coated rims, but I've not dug far enough into the car or old messages here to find out what else has been done to it. Strangely enough I got the car from a local Chevy dealer who swore up and down that all SS models came like this one...
Anyways, I'm pretty excited about the car and love it so far. Came from a 2011 regal turbo with a 6 spd so its nice to be back into something with a bit more character and performance (had a gti mkv, Audi b5 s4 and a Porsche 944 turbo previously).

Congratulations on picking up Mr. Hyde! I miss him a lot already. City is wrong, they didn't all come like Mr. Hyde. Mr. Hyde had every option available when I bought it in August of '08 from Steve Moore Chevy in Pineville. I had the GM Stage kit installed at City Chevrolet in '09 and also had the wheels powder coated at a place down in Monroe. In early '10 I went to a dyno day in Raleigh and had a custom tune installed that put Mr. Hyde at 305WHP and 350+WTQ. The cat-back exhaust system came from Andy at ADM Performance out of Texas. Those are the only horsepower mods done. Earlier this year I replaced the wheel bearings because the passenger side was beginning to whine. I also put on the billet grill. I traded Mr. Hyde in because I was in need of a truck for work and although I didn't really want to give him up, they made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I will PM you my number and you can give me a call if you have any more questions.
PS - I was on the waiting list to have the recall done on the ignition switch when I traded it in. I don't know if City did the recall fix or not. I did, however, have the ignition fix done back in 2011 before GM came clean about the ignition problems. I was told to go ahead and have the recall fix done now to make sure that I didn't have another bad ignition in the car.

Nice, I love it. What is the cheapest way to add a few HP to my SS. It has been tuned by CJ Krause and is fast but I want more.
