New 2008 HHR SS Owner
I just traded up from a 1998 F-150. So far, I really like it. It's pretty much stock. It has the premium sound, but the first thing I plan to do is install my Kenwood receiver. Does anybody have an fuel saving tricks for an automatic SS? Thanks, Tedd

Just a couple of suggestions for interior mods, if you're so inclined later:
1) A Chevrolet script for the vast wasteland above the glove box. As far as options go, you have many eras and styles to choose from. It's a nice, low-cost mod (figure $10-20), and takes minimal effort to install (10 mins stops). Scripts can be found fairly easily on e-bay...there are on-line stores that sell them as well.
2) Painting the waterfall (that's the center console area, the one that houses the radio and heating/cooling controls). It's amazing, what a little color can do to break up the sea of black that is the stock HHR dash. Do a search on here and you'll see that several members have done this, with different looks: some have painted them to match their HHR's body color, some have gone the carbon fiber route, some have had other ideas. If you have the skills to paint it yourself, there's some "how-tos" on how to pull it off...if not (I didn't), if you know a good auto-body shop, they can do it for you, and hopefully at a reasonable cost. My shop charged me $150 and it came out great!
So for well under $200, you can make your interior stand out and give it some life. And if these ideas aren't your thing, there's plenty of other customized dashes and interiors on here, done on various budgets...some very cool stuff worth checking out. Enjoy.
