New guy from Georgia

Hi all - Not yet an HHR owner but seriously considering it. I've always had a full size chevy truck as my daily driver and would like to get into something with better gas mileage that still has some hauling capacity. I've got an '03 Corvette Z06 as my fun car . Anybody else go from a truck to the HHR? I found a silver '09 LT2 w/ the "black chrome" option that I'm going to look at Saturday morning.
Thanks, Bob

Welcome to the group Bob.I traded from a truck(2000Dakota quad cab 4x4 4.7 5-speed)for my HHR SS.I think you should at least take out a SS to compare to the LT2 seeing that your used to brute power.
I like wise have a Corvette,a 62.

An HHR will definitely haul more than the vette!

I have an F250 Diesel, but bought the HHR as a daily driver to keep cost down. Still have the truck to plow and haul my 5th wheel (can't do that with the HHR)

I bought the SS for the fun factor, but then I don't have a vette

I also moved my wife from a sport Ute to an LT HHR and we both love our HHRs. And yes, they haul a lot for such a small car/truck, but don't expect to haul as much as you did in your full size pickup

did they add the black chrome on? I didn't know of an 09's that were rocking that yet. Is it just the rims, or all of the chrome.

None the less, find some people on here with the black chrome and talk to them about it. It looks good but people have reported it fading or peeling over time. If it's just the rims might be able to talk them into trading them down to something else and then using the money elsewhere since the black chrome is pricey.

The black chrome is now an option starting for the 09s.

Welcome fellow GA Boy, I traded my truck in on my new 08 HHR SS! I got the SS because I test drove one after I drove the 2Lt. don't get me wrong the 2LT was great but the SS power sold me and I had to have it. Plus the SS is not to much more than the loaded 2LT...
