New Guy from Ohio
I've been a member for a while now and decided to finally make an intro post.
I bought my panel from a friend after I had become fed up with fixing my old truck. I'd be lying if I said that I was always a fan of HHRs, but this little thing is really growing on me. Before my friend owned it, it was owned by a local beer distributor and used as a rep's car. They racked up the mileage, sitting just over 176,000, but kept on the maintenance. He bought it, drove it for a while, then let it sit for a year before I bought it. Before he sold it he replaced the battery and took care of the leaking fuel lines. I've had it for about a month now and nothing major seems to wrong with it. There are some things that need to be tended to, like the tires and door rust, but nothing major.
Plans for it are to use it for a DD, haul my outdoor gear, and to camp out of next year. I've already cut a rubber mat to cover the entire back end and put a switch in so I can open the lift gate from the inside. I want to put a simple handle inside so I can close the lift gate from the inside as well, after that I think it will pretty much be ready to camp out of.
Future plans include fixing the rust, adding fog lights, window nets, waterproof seat covers, weathertech floormats, and more I'm sure that I'm forgetting.
