New Here....

2007 LS 2.2L 5 speed.

Came from several PT Cruisers before my HHR. Did the PT Club thing for many years and also manufactured aftermarket parts for the PT. Travelled all over the country to shows and rallies until the train came off the rails. LOL

Owned 3 PT's
2 Autos and a Turbo Stick. All of them Had Nitrous and lots of mechanical and electronic upgrades. Very Durable cars. The workhorse (pictured) ended up with 267k miles on it on the stock driveline and I imagine about 300lbs of Nitrous through it. (Thats 30 bottle fills for those counting) Best I could get from the N/A was 13.98 at 101mph. The Turbo 5speed with a little shot of Nitrous was able to get to a 13.21 @ 108mph.

My only complaint with the 420a engine in the PT was the pathetic gas mileage. However, It was durable. I literally beat the crap out of all 3.

Some of the stuff I manufactured for the PT was stainless and Aluminum Trim pieces for Interior and Exterior. The one great item was the Fully Functional "Trendsetter" Dual Side Exhaust System developed for the PT Cruiser. The idea came from the Trendsetters that used to be installed on AMC AMX's and Javelins. We used the side shield that was reproduced for the AMC's and made it fit the PT. Sold lots of them and they sounded great.

Anyway, I'm a Kansas Native. Work in aircraft manufacturing. Single, sort of.
Really liking the Fuel Mileage and space in the HHR over the PT. Maybe doing some modifications to the HHR one of these days. Maybe a functional side exhaust. LOL

to the forum vesparider, since you were big into the PT's you probably know the HHR was also styled and designed by Bryan Nesbitt after he left Chrysler for GM. The HHR was the "sexy" alternative to the stillborn Cobalt station wagon.

I met Bryan in Vegas in 2001 when the PT was in its heyday.

I bought an Off Lease 2007 Dk Blue (can't remember the GM Description) 5 speed 2.2L. I looked at SS's but just couldn't justify it for my Daily Driver. Maybe I'll break out a "Wet" kit for this for the kick in the shorts. I did just have the timing chain set done. Got the Camshaft Sensor P0014 code and it died. Fortunately no major engine damage. Just a complete timing set etc. Covered by extended warranty.

Piddled outside today after getting it back from the dealer. Cleaning and installing the new shift knob/boot. (Man that shaft is hard to get threaded.) Currently the locktite is drying. Only other mods are some Carbon Fibre Vinyl accents. Steering wheel, rear bumper and bowties.

Welcome to the club!!!

I am going to do the carbon fiber with mine as well, yours came out very nicely!! Great job on the shifter knob as well, I'm curious about your screen name?? Do you have a Vespa?? I had a 2008 GTV 250 Portofino green, with brown italian leather saddle, I was rear ended doing about 50mph and the frame got bent so they totalled it. I miss that bike!!
