Welcome to the site. Most common problems seem to be:

front suspension noises - MANY threads about this (struts, sway bar end links/bushings)
premature front brake wear - typically blamed on rear drums not being properly adjusted
broken key fob - resolder the battery clip and foil the buttons

As with any car, there will be various issues that you will encounter that others won't, but there are a bunch of good folks here that are willing to help answer questions. Good luck and hope you enjoy it!

Welcome!

check the bottom of the doors for rust or signs of rust. typically they bubble up where the door touches the weatherstrip

Welcome to the site, he's right all cars have things to fix, but only a HHR is shaped like this.

Here is what I have. 07 LS it is white and looks to be all stock. First thing on my to do list is clean the very dusty engine bay. Will washing it down cause any problems? I want to add fog lights. Is there stuff I need to know about as far as using ebay sourced factory or aftermarket? I know some of the newer cars electrical systems are marginally able to do their jobs from the factory as far as adding stuff. Are aftermarket stereos easily done.I know my way around cars I have VW's and 2 280zx's and have had them almost completely apart and put them back together but very little in the form of computer communications in the older stuff. This new stuff is,,,, well new to me, and I am proceeding with much caution. I tend to over think stuff.
