I'm saying hello to hopefully get the silly message of the top of my screen stating the records show I haven't made a post. There's a reason I haven't......

......see, I have the oppertunity to purchase an 07' LT with 53K miles on it for $8k. Just about any KBB would classify this as an "Excellent" condition used vehicle. Most HHR's in this area are going for $12K or more with 80K miles on them. As you can see, it's one helluva deal. However, I'm not totally sure I really like this vehicle. No, it's not about it's lack of power or the fact it's a Chevy or that the aftermarket world is small and expensive. I'm simply not convinced it's "right" for me.
I've always tinkered with cars since I was 14ish and running pinto's at the local dirt circle. I know I can SC/Turbo w/ tune and can get any power needed down the road and I've had and tinkered with just about every big name auto maker but I've kept it to old school muscle, hot rods and 4cyl domestic rice. So, I'm just not sure if the HHR is a good fit for me. I've never really had a "family four door" much less a "sporty soccer mom scooter".

So, I've been reading and reading and reading and searching and searching and searching to find the common flaws, easy fixes, tips, tricks and to see what the aftermarket can provide. Still undecided though. Lord knows I don't need another forum to post in nor another password but you never know, I just may indeed become a long standing member here like I've been on other forums.

Welcome to here...

I have an '07 2LT and love it. Sounds like yours could be a good deal if you go for it... They are fun little cars.

Welcome ??? I like mine, just buy it, you will love it.

You wont miss the old muscle if you find a tuned SS, they are a little nuts, Joe was toying with selling a nice one.

Well we would love to have ya! But that a personal choice as you already know. Drive it, sit in it, look at it, etc.

I will say this. Not because I own one. They are good reliable cars. They can suffer from some broken plastoc parts inside if abused. But overall they are almost trouble free. I have 70,000 on my 09 and never have had a problem. I also find they are fairly easy to work on. Anyway I say go for it. But thats a choice only for you. Good Luck

Hmmmm. Don't think he's gonna find a SS for $8K like the LT he's looking at.

I said "for the going rate of the others" meaning $12-15k.

to the forum kwe45919!

As a guy with 4 of them, yeah 4 of them, I can say that if you do your homework and check it your prospective purchase carefully, you'll really like it. There's something about HHR's that gets under your skin, if you like them...you REALLY like them.

Welcome to the forum. Do be aware that there is a lot more computer tinkering involved with this car. As others have said, take a look at an SS if you can find one. If you want to tinker, there is a lot of satisfaction to be had with the SS for less $ in the long run.
