Southern woman's first HHR
They are so darned cute I had to have one. Satan or God or Bill Gates is responsible because I don't ever spend money and I did. And I'm tickled that I did. 
I'm trying to learn the forums quickly but I have one desperate question. I had a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo before - I pull forward and use my tires (gently) telling me when I've pulled forward far enough.
My first curb with my HHR ... disaster. SCRRRRAPPPP! Help! What is the quickest best way to add a curb sensor or something to protect it! I didn't realize it was so low!
Please don't be mad that I posted an actual question here. I don't want to crack the front of my car! I will do my own homework from now on and it's wonderful to find such a forum. I'm also now reading on claying a car so I can spruce it up! I guess I'm truly smitten.

Oh! So true! But will it crack the piece that hangs down in front if I happen to make a mistake? I'll try to be careful but I'd rather protect it. Can I put a bull dozer shovel in front ?

I had to answer this because I like YOUR sense of humor !!
Bumping/hitting/striking the air dam and causing damage would be dependent on what AND how many times you hit something, such as a parking curb.
I've hit mine several times over a period of 4, going on 5, years. It's still there, albeit, I have some scuffs/rough marks. Still functions and the minor damage is hardly noticeable.
You'll get use to it and park correctly and have seldom, if any, problems.

Makes parking a lot easier....
Whenever I park next to someone else (which i try to do as seldom as possible) I use the reflection on their bumper to see where the curb is. Gives you a decent idea until you get used to the new car.
Congrats on the great purchase!

The key is getting used to your new car...... using the tires as a bumper stop even if you could is not the best way to go..... if there's no curb then you just keep driving???? (Just kidding 
)
