Cool 1st try in Photoshop Elements

This is the first attempt at pulling a car out of a pic.

Comments, opinions, advice are all very welcome!! ( I just noticed it needs some work around the stubby! )

This is a pic form the same day. (too lazy to upload the original that I chopped. )

That is a very good effort. You also need some work around the rt front lower fascia and left rear lower fascia. Does Photoshop Elements have the 'Extract' function or using the lasso and/or eraser?

It has all that. I used something called a magic wand. Was pretty easy. Now if I can just figure out how to do layers.

To clean up the edges, zoom in and use the fine eraser tool. You can erase almost pixel by pixel. Make sure you only erase the car layer though.

Great start...its addictive!

I did the Mater chop of the HHR back in January. The thread has a link to a good tutorial on how to make your own. It gives pretty detailed information on using layers. Even if the CARS kind of chop isn't your thing, it is worth while as a learning exercise.

The thread is here: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/show...ighlight=mater

I just loaded that program. It came with scanner I purchased. I'm going to have to sit down and learn how to use it. I had an old version of Corel Draw and created some great t-shirts for my boys when they were younger. This looks like lots of fun!

this is how i work...

poly lasso (the one that does straight lines)
click around what you want to cut out.

you can hold "Shift" to add to the selection, and "alt" to subtract ("option" on a mac)

once you have your selection, hit command+J (ctl+J on pc) this will create a new layer from your selection.

Take this how you will but I welcome all comments except from someone who lies and takes credit for a photoshop they did little on.

I think it is pretty good, better than I could do.
Actually I thought that the stubby was to be that way.
