20 year-200,000 MILE WARRANTY

Hated to do it , but my wife lost her job two years ago and at 53 years old jobs here are hard to find, so she decided to retire and watch our two year old grand-daughter. She has been driving a 2004 PT CRUISER, which she bought new, which now has 73,000 miles. We decided to look for a new car with a good warranty and saw that a local KIA dealer was offering a 20 year 200,000 mile warranty on all new KIAs'. Incentives were good, and if you owned a HHR you also got a $500 additional rebate. She bought a 2011 FORTE 5 DOOR SX. We still have the HHR, but we'll be selling the PT in the spring.

Nothing wrong with longer warranty, just makes me feel old because I remember when Chrysler's 5 year 50,000 mile warranty was such a big deal. I think we'll see somebody offering a lifetime limited warranty soon, probably Kia, Hyundia, or some other hungry car company.

Careful about posting that here. You might be stoned. Oh wait you got rid of the PT. Nevermind, they will be overjoyed Anywho, congrats on the new Kia.

Wow - A KIA dealer giving an extra incentive if you own a Chevy .
They really must hate the local Chrysler dealer .

Chrysler did that a few years ago with the powertrain. They quit when they went into bankruptcy though.

IIRC ? kia used to have a 10 yr/100K warranty, for original owner only..

Wonder if this new dealio is just for the powertrain ? Prolly.....

Be sure to read the fine print on that warranty. When Dodge offered the lifetime powertrain, there were a lot of stipluations on it. Failure to do one and the warranty was gone.

One of our local Honda dealers is offering lifetime coverage on new, and some pre-owned (certified) Hondas. Sure is tempting.

They can probably do it, because how many people buy a car and keep it for more than 5 years now a days...
