Other than that my Vibe experience was fine!

I really should have bought an AWD automatic not a silly stick. Good MPG though with the one we had.
New body style looks OK. Still, a car fo others , not me...........
I like the current style better than the '09. Almost bought one instead of the HHR, glad to know you think I made the right choice. Although, I did like the center console and all the little cubbie holes it had better than the dash top compartment the HHR's have.

Which is not a bad thing at all....I'm still having a little bit of buyer's remorse on trading mine in...the HHR is a lot cooler looking and fun to drive but...

I cross-shopped a Vibe last week when I bought my HHR. I would have liked to have had the VIBE's interior storage options in the HHR. Didn't like the Vibe's older generatin radio (noticed they fixed that for '09) but liked having a center console, plus storage options under the radio and to the left of the steering wheel.

I don't think the '08 Vibe is really that close to the '08 HHR, it's just that there is only so much space you can work with given the body shape, so that lends itself to a generally similar design, but if you look at the details, I don't think you can name three things they had in common in terms of placement, look and feel, gauge size, etc.

Gotta tell ya, if the Vibe offered the 2.4 this year instead of waiting for '09, if the '09 radio was available, I would probaby be driving a Vibe right now but would want the rest of the dash, etc in the '08 style. I guess it was just a question of timing. Of course, I haven't driven an '09 yet, so maybe the instrument cluster would grow on me more than the pictures indicate.

The Vibe was my other choice as well. I had GM dollars (card), so I was looking for a GM, rebates, sporty. I was very impressed with the '08 Vibe, but fell for the HHR panel, which turned me on to the whole line of HHRs. Panel had too many blind spots, so I ended up with the 2LT. I am happy with my choice, but the Vibe would have been good as well.
