Since the premise for this post has been de-bunked (had me going too, so no blame on the originator) I don't mind participating in a "hijack".

Yes, do read more, because actually in high enough concentration C02 is "toxic" at about 10% (many times the normal concentration). Hence the Lake Manoun incident (many human and livestock deaths) and potential at Mammoth lakes. When deep lakes "burp" or there are volcanic sources of C02you want to leave the area quickly!
