Unhappy 9/11/07 My Manhattan daily Travel in the Big Apple

Going to work today was not your regular Tuesday.
There are no happy faces to see.
The eyes all looked down in sorrow.
Its cloudy.
The express bus came on time.
The people on the bus were very quite.
The only noise to hear was the traffic.
We had no issues leaving Staten Island.
The traffic on the NJ turnpike was fine.
Then approach to the Lincoln tunnel was smooth as usually.

Before you knew it we entered the City.
Next Stop 34th street and 9th Avenue.
A few people get off.
I'm the next stop 34th and 8th.
Plenty of sorrow faces walking the crowded street near Madison Square Garden and Macy's in Herald Square.

I then take the E train.
There was plenty of Police presence on the train platform.
I then got off at 7th avenue and 50th for work.
The people are quite on this sadden day.
The voices around my office are those that don’t want to watch TV today or read the paper.

9/11 we remember you

Well said, I think everyone should take a moment of silence to remember and honor all those affected by a terrible day in history.

I've decided to look upon this with more hope than sorrow. Only when you get out of the gloom and try to make a difference that things get better, and this seems to be the way to do it:

It is a sad day in time, but the compassion that we seen from most was inspiring. We need to come together as people like that in all times, good and bad, to make this world better.
