Cool stuff - if you go to youtube, they have a whole series of videos on the Hartung collection, dismanteling, and the auctions of some of the items -
ie: -

BTW, if anyone wants to download any of the videos for collecting etc., give RealDownloader a try - it works great, and can be acquired for Free at: http://www.real.com/realdownloader

ps: the auction was held back in late 2011 so the collection is gone........ too bad.

My buddys dad was friends with this guy , He went to the auction and said stuff was selling for big money. I remember him sending a link , (as was just provided)
with all the lot prices. I thought the BMW would have sold for a million.

I remember when the auction was.. & know that Dale Walksler of Wheels Through Time Museum did not leave empty handed..

In his Vintage Bike Museum in Maggie Valley, N.C. every bike being displayed runs..Just ask, & he or his son will start any bike for you.. http://www.wheelsthroughtime.com/

For anybody who has not been there, it is truly a step back in time...

Here's a pic of Dale
