Apple will never go out of business...
Well it happened again, another i-Pad bit the dust on Wednesday.
My two year old son pulled it off the kitchen counter onto the ceramic tile floor with a smack, scratch another 'Pad.
I didn't raise my voice, I didn't spank him, I just engaged "Ward Cleaver Mode" for a little talk about "what we don't touch, and why".
Then I gathered up the pieces, buckled Dusty into his child seat in the Challenger, and off we Rumbled down to the Apple store.
If y'all are keeping score, that's the fourth 'Pad to bite the big one in the last 13 months.
The score so far is 3 dropped, and 1 run over with Paddy the HHR. Now if you're wondering how I ran one over with Paddy, just remember that your humble Administrator is apt to do dumb things when distracted.
Hence the amazement expressed by a couple of my Buddies here that last weeks home improvement project didn't end in a trip to the E.R.
So rest assured Apple employees and stock holders, you keep making 'em, and I'll keep breakin' them.

Been there before. There are some videos on youtube that explains how to change the glass on an iPad.
My wife's iPhone found it's way into the toilet a few weeks ago. Thank god it was clean water.
I took it apart cleaned it out. I had to replace the battery, the charge port and the rear camera.
All the parts together was 15.00.
I has to use a magnifying glass to see all the tiny components in there.
Replacement parts are very inexpensive. I think I seen the iPad glass for 17.00 on ebay.

Would you believe; that I have cracked 1 screen on a cheap Android phone (whilst working on my HHR) and have had 1 HD catastrophe and 2 (cheap) laptop mother boards flame out in 35 years?
Apple bites (oh, this IS the Lounge) my Ass!

This is why I bought my 2yr old a 10" android tablet for 1/4 the price of an iPad, including a nice padded case.
However she loves the home theatre, stuffing things in the blue ray player and playing with all the buttons, often getting her ears blasted off before I get to spend 10 minutes resetting everything.
And my wife's laptop, which I have advised her to relocate many times, has corners broken off and been drowned twice, but is still kicking.

I bet Apple loves you. Lol. I try and stick to android. Not a fan of Apple IOS. But I know the feeling. We have four tablets, three smart phones, and a partridge in a pare tree. Was just telling the wife the other day how when we were kids our parents used to beg us to go outside and leave them alone. Now we beg our kids for time WITH them because we compete with all the technology.

Well, I'm philosophical about the high casualty rate, it just means I'll never have an obsolete model.
I became an Apple guy back in the 80's, and they're all I've used for nearly 35 years, so I'm a creature of habit.
