Away for a bit
Just got the news that my mother has passed on. So it looks like I'll be heading to Pennsylvania for a while to help get affairs in order.
She has not been in the best of health for the last few years, from about 2005 when she had a stroke. Then she had to start dialysis in 2006. She seemed to be holding her own until the middle of last month, when she had fallen and broke her hip. Many infections and complications arose after her surgery to repair the broken hip. On Wednesday, she went into cardiac arrest while in radiology and had been unresponsive since. During the night, liver failure accompanied the many complications since the surgery in mid December. And it was decided earlier in the morning to pull the plug on the respirator.
Well that's about it in a nut shell.

Jay-
Sorry for your loss. I hope settling the affairs is straight-forward and smooth, as the extra grief just doesn't help in these matters (plus I hear it's mighty cold up there) to quickly get your life back to normal.
Condolences,
Steve
