Back in the fold with another Chevrolet

Been awhile since I have been on, traded in my HHR in February of this past year for a Honda Fit. While the mpg and versatility of that little car was great, I just never got comfortable in it.

So fast forward to a month ago and I traded the Fit (for 1000 less than I paid ) and got a 2011 Silverado 1500 Extended Cab 4x4. While the mpg was a wakeup call (I expected that anyways) I just love being back in a Chevy. For me there was no question on what truck I was going to get once I decided to go that direction

In any event, we used to be able to provide our VIN to someone here and they could tell you the exact date that the vehicle was made.......is that still being done?

I may pick up a used HHR (06-07) just to have as a commuter car a couple days of the week but I sure do love having a truck

I like my 2009 Silverado the 5.3 engine with the Fuel Management System. Get 22 MPG on the highway and this was on a trip with the temps at 5-9 degrees F below zero. I tuned my truck for mileage with Trifecta to have the system activate earlier and lock the torque converter at a lower speed only in normal driving (non-trailer mode). Trailer mode operates normal, Towing our camper or my 26T on its trailer gets me 15 -17 mpg.

Wow thats some great mpg! Best I have gotten is 19.4 but only 3000 miles on it so I imagine it will get a little better once broken in. Hmmmm I may be picking your brain on that tuner option
