My heart felt condolences to Jo Coddington, Diane Coddington, Boyds family and the entire crew at Boyds shop. I will forever cherish the time I was able to spend at his shop. I was able to go to almost every open house last year and always had a great time!

Rest in Peace Boyd, you were the man.

Boyd Coddington has passed away

I just wanted to let any hot rodders or customizers know about the passing of Boyd Coddington, It was one of his creations that got me in to the auto restyling business. and I have always been inspierd by his work. It is sad to see him go.

Growing up watching ZZ Top videos and reading Hot Rod magazine, Boyd was one of MY heroes. I wasn't that interested in much else but cars and guitars, and the cars he built are some of my favorites. One of the reasons why I own an HHR is because of him. All of us owe him a lot for inspiring the "modern" hot rod industry into production form with Prowler, PT Cruiser, SSR, and HHR.

You think so? That is a lot more then some people can say they do. What a great epitaph on a head stone “he didnt do much more than build cars" Boyd was a jerk on his TV show but he was great for the hobby, RIP.

OH NO! He was one of my heros. I loved his shows and really loved his cars. He could be a hard ass at times, but he probably forgot more about cars that most of us will know. I especially liked the fact that he drove every car when it was finished. I guess this will be the end of his business.

he was a jerk in person too, always reaked of alcohol and paid his employees crap. thats why they left him. think i am talking smack? my father in law worked for him for quite a few years before he moved here.

BTW i log over 1000 hours a year in volunteer time and countless amounts of dollars. thats alot more than most people can say.
