Bubble sound from under passenger side.

Bubble sound from under passenger side.
I have an 2009 SS. It is making a bubble sound under the passenger side dash area when the heater is on. When I shut the heat off, it stops.
Also, I'm hearing a whining sound from the serpetine belt area. The belt appears fine.
If anybody has an idea to these two concerns, it would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Mine has always done it when the engine is warming up (as the thermostat is opening). There is another thread about this from a month or two ago. Either your car does it or it doesn't, it doesn't seem to hurt a thing, and no one seems to know what it is or really how to cure it (or even if you should). I usually think it is my stomach, and pull into Micky D's for a snack.

Have any rains lately? HHR's are notorious for water leaks. Check the passenger side for a soaked carpet. This would indicate a leak and the bubbling sound may be water running from the cabin air filter tray onto the carpet. There's a rubber flap over the access hole for the fan motor under the windshield cowling that might be letting the water in.
I have a 2006 and strangely it never showed itself in the 5 years I've had the car - until recently after a huge rainstorm (for Southern California). Except the sound I heard was more of a swishing as the water poured over the tray and dripped onto the footwell and soaked the carpet. Took it to the dealer, and had the problem fixed. ( dealer claims it was a broken deflector that should have prevented the water from accumulating in the filter tray)

Thanks guys for all your help. I've scheduled an appointment to get the alternator checked. It's a little noisy for what I'm used to (only had this SS for four weeks). The bubbly air sound only happens after the engine has warmed up and when I touch the brake. I will keep my fingers crossed. Got to love warrenty.
