Were you definitely set on getting the VTX1300S? The new Yamaha Star 1300 Tourer is excellent also and being fully loaded is just under $9000. I havent ridden one but it's fuel injected, belt driven, hard bags, and windshield. I still have my 99 VStar 650 Classic that I really love. My neighbor had a very nice VTX1800 and let me borrow it one day. Now, that bike put the fear of God in me! LOL It doesnt matter what ya ride as long as you ride. Good luck.

I love the 1300. Thats the bike i wanted to get before i came across mine last year. But i got such a deal on it i couldnt pass it up. I have a '98 aero 1100, before that a '96 ace 1100. You cant go wrong with a honda. I have 27k on my aero and still climbing. My dad has a '90 sporty 883 that we punched to 1200, changed the rear sprocket, and of course added drags too, but the honda is way more reliable and has a much better ride. Also with the single pin setup of the '98 1100 it still has that awesome rumble.

Congrats on your new ride, keep the rubber side down.

It took me a Google, but I finally realized that it's a motorcycle, not a car. Wow, the one I saw was orange, and gorgeous!! Being a Daytona Blue girl, I'm sure that yours is even nicer. Excellent use of savings $$$

I thought the same thing! Oh well! Still can't go wrong with a Honda. I once had an '83 Goldwing besides the 3 Honda cars (Not all at the same time ) I loved it but sold it in '92 and got a pickup. Sometimes I wish I still had it, but I'm getting a bit old for that stuff now!

Yeah, I'm definitely set on it. By getting it in Chatanooga, I am paying $7,200 (base) plus maybe $1,000 for the extras I want (backrest, carrier, and possibly a Switchbalde windshield). The cheapest I could get a 2007 up here is $8,800 base. It's well worth a 3.5 hour drive to save that kind of money, plus the blue in 2007 is a light blue that I didn't really like.

ok...crazy...lol
no your not crazy, respect the bike, it will take good care of you. and by buying the honda you should have no problems down the road. btw if you are a new rider, please check with your dps office for the nearest motorcycle training course, the time you spend there can be a life saver.

Tomorrow's the day for picking up the bike. I borrowed a Harley trailer from a guy I work with. That will probably look funny when I pull into the Honda dealership, but they'll probably get over it.
