Cool Christmas present Notebook PC finally arrived!!

Okay, a while back I posted about ordering a notebook PC for my son for Christmas from iBuypower.com. Well, that ended up being a no go. They tried to rip me off! They charged my card 12/10/07 ("guaranteed delivery by Christmas") but by 01/02/08 they still hadn't built the computer and were stonewalling me. So I issued a charge-back through my Mastercard. Mastercard granted the charge-back fully and I took my business to http://www.cyberpowerpc.com

Received the notebook from Cyberpower this week, and it is an @ss kicker:

- Intel T7700 Core 2 Duo processor @ 2.4Ghz
- 2 meg DDR2 ram @667mhz
- nVidia m8600GT video card w/ 512 meg discreet DDR3 ram (not shared)
- Seagate 7200rpm 160 gig SATA notebook drive w/ 8mb buffer
- 15" WXGA widescreen display (dual monitor capability w/ the nVidia m8600GT)
- Intel 4965AGN minicard wireless wifi card (802.11A/B/G & draft N)
- 6-in-1 combo built-in media reader (camera cards, etc)
- DVDRW drive
- Windows XP Home SP2 Media Version 2
- Built-in 1.3 megapixel webcam
- Built-in BlueTooth capability
- 10/100 Lan port

Price was $1155 w/ free shipping

I actually ordered it with the Intel 3965ABG (802.11A/B/G) wifi card but they said there was a problem with the 3965ABG so they upgraded me to the 4965AGN for free.

Another nice thing is a clean software loadout-- Windows XP and drivers, etc., but no bloatware.

First thing he did was load up Call of Duty 4 on it. Running at 1024 x 768 on settings almost maxed its completely smooth, looks like 50fps+

You find a deal, make it for 2. I've been thinking about that canon also.

Yep. Vista is not ready for prime time. It might be after MS releases Service Pack 1 for Vista, but until then I'll hold off.
