Hey CalgaryHHR

I have a A.S. in Electronics Technology & a B.S. in Information Systems. It has just worked out this way where I can get my 3rd degree. Being a teacher is a completely different challange that I am really looking foward too. My friends think I am crazy going back and getting a degree that will cut my pay about 60%. I am at a point in my life where money is not everything(no I am far from money rich). Some people understand the quality of life angle I am coming from but sadly in my opinion most only see cash. I use to work hard for cash(many hours put in), but at the expence of family, friends. Now I plan on working hard for the students!!!

Strat Man, anyone who chooses teaching should be commended. Hopefully in the future school districts will figure out they need to pay higher salaries for quality teachers. Some areas cannot attract the best because of their high cost of living doesn't correlate to the salaries offered.

I fully agree that job satisfaction is much more valuable than higher pay. Best of luck in your new profession!

I was one of those guys that though he knew everything already and quit school in my Junior year. 15 years later I went back to finish my degree. I make 16 A's and 1 B in my final courses. Finished with a 3.18. A few years later my son finished with a 3.4 for his BBA and then got a 3.8 for his MBA in Economics. We are both with banks now. It was well worth it.

I hear you about leaving and coming back. Myself, it wasn't so much that I was arrogant and thought I knew it all as much as I ran out of money and had gotten burned out by a bad relationship that sucked me dry. Glad to hear ya got back into things, though, same as me.
