Dingy towing my HHR?
OK, I am going to be towing my HHR for the first time behind a motorhome. I am using a falcon tow bar from roadmastr and I know about puttong it in neutral and removing the #8 fuse. My question is, will this have any effect on my transmission? Since I am running the car for 2000 miles will it harm the tranny or anything else?

No effect, there is a system in the transmission that provides the needed lubrication during towing.

When you get tired of pulling #8 fuse buy this as I did.
http://www.rv-partsplus.com/home/accessories/ about 1/2 way down the page. Fuse switch. Not cheap but make sure you tell him you want the one for a Honda as it comes with a fuse that he has sottered the wires to a fuse and put a inline fuse in place with a switch on the end for you to mount wherever you want. I just tie wired it in a couple places and it hangs just past the heat duct on passenger side. The one he had for the HHR was just to stake-on like things that slid into the slots for the fuse but do to where the #8 fuse is on my 08 it was hard to get to and even harder to get in the small space. I called him back and explained the trouble I was having and he said he would send me the one for Honda which in my opinion should be the standard one for all models of towds. Also don't forget that you aren't supposed to pull the HHR faster than 65mph which in this day and age of higher and higher gas prices may not be something to worry about any longer.

HHR Wiring-RV-Dingy Towing Battery Goes DEAD Fuse 8 Pulled

I have a 06 HHR and I tow it behind my Cross Country class A motor home but I have one problem. I pull fuse 8 but it still runs the battery down. Has anyone had this problem?

Yes, I had the same problem the last time I towed with still no confirmed explaination. Dealer thought I may have left the key in the on position and not in the accessory position and said I may have left the auto-lights on. I haven't towed in since to verify if I did as they suspect or if there is another issue. I had only towed it for around 4 hours when this occurred. Dealer could be right... but I'm usually good at checking everything before we leave.
