My old man used to smoke like a chimney, and Camels no less, so when I was about 13 or 14 (Around 1946!) I thought I'd see what the facination was for myself! I think I snuck 2 or 3 of them for a try. Didn't take more than a few puffs for me to think, "What the hells with these things??", and my smoking days were over!!

Your poll didn't have the right choice for me. I haven't smoked for over two years now. I used Chantix. It took five months to wear me down before I quit. I really didn't want to quit. Unfortunately, there's a very good reason the FDA made them put a black box warning on the drug. I'm still dealing with some of the side effects.

Started smoking while in the Army, 1967. Quit in 1971 cold turkey before our fist son was born.
