Don Juan's family trip Mall of America, MN
I haven't been on the site much lately or really active the last few years. Now that im graduated from college I don't have that feeling of guilt when i'm on the site when i know i could use that time to be doing something achademic. I figure ill share some experiances, at the same time since I am on my trip right now I will keep an ear open to anyone that knows the areas I'm in and suggest nice spots to visit.
I am traveling with my parents and sister in my HHR. We left Alamosa CO on sunday at 7pm and made it to a K.O.A. in Lincoln, NE around 8am in time for some morning showers and to see what Omaha had to offer. We Stopped at Famous/Farmers Market? Which was nice! Bricklaid streets felts funny to drive on but cool at the same time. From there we crossed to Iowa and went to the Harrah's ferry casino. Shortly after we started for Sioux City, SD, where we came to a K.O.A. and stayed in a cabin for the night.
Yeaterday after a quick breakfast at the camp, it was back on the road to De Smet, SD. We went to go see the house and memorial of Laura Ingalls, writer of Little House on The Prarie books. After a good day in De Smet we headed towards MonteVideo, MN. After an additional hour more than expected due to detours arrived and stayed at the Sportsman Inn.
Currently we are in route of Minneapolis, MN and hope to be at the mall within a few hours. I will post pics of some stops and some with the HHR to mark that I've been there.

Six of us went on a cross country trip this summer. A big file of photos. My HHR stayed at home.

You're not getting the mileage you're expecting because of all the extra weight you are hauling. With 4 people and luggage, your HHR's at capacity. Takes extra fuel to move more weight. You might want to consider putting an extra pund or two of air in your tires (check your tire chart in the manual).

Did forget to double check tire pressures though. Thanks for the reminder. I was gonna check before we left but things got hectic. I just put the solstice wheels, spacers and studs. Night before. Loading the car we decided to put the stock rear springs on right before we left. A little busy.
