Family Challenges Lesbian Adoption
#11
I'm surprised the heirs didn't fight the adoption in the first place. Surely, they knew there would be an inheritance. I also don't understand how a judge could approve this adoption. They put people in jail for marrying foreigners so that they can stay in the US. But, they agreed to something like this?

if the adopted has relations with the adopter, do they call that incest?

maybe. like i said this is worse than a soap opera. when in doubt ask wikipedia:
Incest is sexual activity between close family members. Incest is considered taboo, and forbidden (fully or slightly) in the majority of current and past cultures. This is and was often the case even in cultures that are or were sexually permissive in other ways, such as the French Polynesian Marquesas prior to Western influence, who permitted child sexuality and experimentation, but disallowed incest.
The precise meaning of the word varies widely, because different cultures have differing notions of "sexual activity" and "close family member". Some cultures consider only those related by birth, while others include those related by adoption or marriage. Some prohibit sexual relations between people who grew up in the same household, while others prohibit sexual relations between people who grew up in related households.
Incest can occur between same-sex as well as opposite-sex relatives. It can occur between related children, between parents and their children, or between adult relatives.
Incest between close blood-relations is a crime in most jurisdictions even in cases where the sex is consensual, although again the extent of the definition of "close" varies. However, since incest is an interpersonal act that takes place in private, it is a difficult law to enforce. There are wide differences between nations as to how serious the crime of incest is. In some countries, such as Australia, incest is a serious indictable offence, while in others it is a minor crime with much less serious consequences.

This same sex marriage thing comes down to be about Money.
The insurance co. don`t want to pay out to people who are committed to each other (America is full of those ), and they also don`t want s/s people making decisions about each others medical treatments, and receiving benefits.
The Government doesn`t really care one way or another, just pay your taxes.
The church, the same one that won`t condemn teenage pregnacies or out of wedlock sex, can find a million reasons why two, consenting, committed adults, shouldn`t be joined in marriage and enjoy (or not) life as a couple.
Make it legal (that`s all marriage is anyway, that`s why you need a license), and let these people go on with life.
PS. Married 31 yrs., it`s no cake walk...

I don't think it has anything to do with money or insurance. It has to do with the large group of right wing Christians that have way too much of a hold on this country and our politicians. Homosexuality is against Gods will so there for same sex marriages would break down and destroy the family values and moral fiber that our society was built on. God just doesn't want it! A marriage is a holy union between a loving male and a female. All that nonsense. I'm sure you've heard all the illogical holy excuses as to why homosexuals shouldn't be allowed to get married by now. Many of them have been said in public by our top politicians including our president. There are very few politicians that are willing to do anything to change the stupid ban on same sex marriages for fear of loosing votes and support. It's more about the majority in America out ruling the minority. There are far more people that don't believe in same sex marriages than those of us that support them.
