Fire days?

I know there are kids that get snow days off from school. In San Diego our kids get fire days. Right now there are 9 different fires in my area. We have yet to be evacuate, as of now. I'm asking for those of you who pray, to do so. Pray for our brave Firefighters saftey.
Blessings

A big "Be Safe" to all of my firefighter brothers and sisters out there.
Same goes to everyone else affected by this event.

(Hey Mike. Where's my firetruck smiley ? Could have used it here.)

It seems they are always tring to blame the fires out west on an arsonist but those kinds of fires are a natural occurence and have happened for thousands of years.

A few years ago the DNR set somes controlled fires near Los Alamos, New Mexico and burned a town to the ground. 400 homes lost and 1 billion in damages. So go figure.

It has been raining here almost every day for 3 weeks. I wish I could send some of the water to San Diego.

Been here all my life (55 years) evacuated several times, this is the first time that there has been so many in different areas that sprug up within 2 days, miles apart. My friend, who is a 911 dispatcher, has armed gaurds posted as you come in to her office. She says this is the first.
Crazy time in Cali
We would love some of your rain Brydie.

Take care of you and yours jczboy. It's hitting the news up here as well - and certainly did not look good at all.

We have a huge Army base (A.P.Hill) here, about the size of Camp Pendleton, that burns almost every year. You would never know about it except for the smell of smoke. They never report about it because it's in the "country" no houses around.

Two were arrested yesterday trying to set two more.
Thanks Whopper!
Don, The CP fire is the largest, but not the biggest concern. Although they evacuated some there. Like you were saying, there are not as many houses. We have one that is ripping through communities, and if it weren't for our fire fighters we would be in deep stuff.
A church was set yesterday not even close to the others.
We had our first body found.

I was really commenting on the lack of news here, not the terrible stuff that happens. I have several relatives that are/where involved with CalFire (if I remember the dept name right).

Last year I spent 2 weeks wondering why it smelled like somebody was having a cookout in my backyard during the summer. Turns out only the people near the fence get notified.
