Ford's Door Edge Protector

Its bad enough that some moron even has to contact my car in a PARKING LOT, this device will give them incentive to do so.

I guess its better than nothing. Careless parkers are a great pet peeve of mine.
Nothing is worse than looking down the port side of your Riviera and seeing various waves and contact points along your body. The HHR I don't really care about. It seems to dent/chip when someone looks at it funny.

+1000 It isn't "better than nothing", either, because now the morons win. They have less/no risk to their vehicle. Why should they care about yours? This rewards the mediocre. Not good news on a gloomy day here in Motown...

I'll be parking even further from the stores now.......

On the bright side.... it will be funny when these start breaking and getting stuck..... the morons will not be able to close their doors.

More like a "door damage inflicter", another bright idea from Ford.

IF its soft / padded in may protect both the Fool, er Ford and the target but sure looks like the type of contraption that will get tangled in clothes or hit and be broken / bent & useless Mr worse. We'll see how they go.

It DOES look like it is soft and padded, it is as much for the user as it it for the "target car". I love my Chevy, but I have to give credit to Ford for some innovative ideas.

Here is an excerpt from Ford Media:

“Ford’s new Door Edge Protector is an excellent innovation for preventing these annoying dents and scratches. Any system that can reduce the risk of damage to your own or someone else’s vehicle is worthy of recognition, but one that operates so effectively without affecting the looks or performance is particularly noteworthy.”
