Its a good idea to try and thwart the whole denting issue. However, our argument is that people with assume that it is OK that they do not express care when opening their car doors simply because they have this feature. I doubt a small strip of rubber will stop a dent if given enough conviction. What about when the rubber dry-rots?

Point is...
I DON'T WANT ANY *****S HITTING MY CAR WITH ANYTHING, LET ALONE A STRIP OF RUBBER!!!!

I take insane care when I park. If its too close on either side, I realign. If I don't fit, I leave to find somewhere less crowded.

What about when the opposing car has contours that do not fit where the rubber is? Guess what, you just hit someone and will probably run and hide.

It gives the average moron permission to fling their Ford Doors open in reckless abandon. Hey look Steve, with my new ford door edge protectors you can fling your passanger door open into the HHR next to you and nothing will happen! (Steve opens his door with a swing even Babe Ruth would envy). Steve-"OOOPS". Owner of Ford "Oh S--- Steve-look what you did! Let's get out of here before the owner of that HHR with skulls all over it comes back and beats the crap out of us and my brand new Ford!"

Nice invention. However it is like the government-lets not correct the wrong behavior or fix the issue at hand-lets just spend tons of money to help lessen the moronic impact the bad behavior creates in the first place.

Nuff Said.

I totally agree wit this, but as a father, I HAVE to remind my kids EVERY time they open one of the back doors to be careful. I would continue to do this, but it would be nice if I forgot once, or they didn't listen (this never happens LOL) that there was a back-up safety.
I saw my wife open her door part way and reach in to get someting out and the wind blew the door the rest of the way open, fortunatly it just missed the car next to it....
Door dents are one of my pet peaves, so I totally agree that the behavior has to change, but let's face it, some people just don't care! Int those cases, this device my save MY car from another $100 paintless dent removal charge.

I always take utmost care in how and where I park .... But when I move to a place all by myself, it acts like a Magnet for all the A Ho-les in the Area.....

Especially the Maucho Jerks withe the F-350's that the running boards are even with my windows, or the Junker 1/2 ton Pick Up full of beer cans in the box.

Ya just can't always win !!!
