I guess you are entitled to your opinion as I am entitled to mine.

Health care and socialism is not one of them imho

Da Gov can't even run itself, efficiently. Why should we intrust our health services to them?

And I don't believe socialism has worked, successfully, anywhere !!! But, I'm not saying you shouldn't try, if you think it will make you happy.
I think you meant that it's more of an observation rather than an opinion. Same thing I'm observing here about the Universal Health Care issue.

Yes and just about nothing. Our current government is just about useless and totally corrupt. Their main concern definitely isn't this country, our economy, our workforce, or our peoples best interest for that matter. America need to return to the good old days of for the people by the people. The only way I see to do that is through Socialism because 231 years of our Capitalism has lead us straight to hell. America is supposed to be the land of the free where everyone is equal but yet we're still held down by an old school Capitalist social class system. Like Marx taught class should be determined by a person’s relationship to the means of production as opposed to class being determined by wealth alone.

You're right. It's all ideology. I chose Socialism at an early age and it stuck. Even if I'm doing better personally I hate to see this country decline due to greed and feel that Democratic Socialism is our only savior. I don't like that there are people busting their ass 60-80 hours just to make ends meet while others make millions without ever lifting a finger. I don't like how lazy Americans have gotten and that nobody has pride in their work or our workforce anymore. I don't like the decline of the US dollar and our work being lost to foreign industries. I don't like that politicians choose personal interest over public interest. I don't like our government giving tax breaks to foreign companies to bring work back into the US while we penalize US industries. I don't like that millions of Americans abuse our Welfare and Social Security systems. I don't like the current political parties trying to take away individual liberties and freedoms. I don't like that there are Americans including whole families starving in our streets while we go off and fight pointless wars, protect and back other countries, and provide economic relief to others. I don't like the government using my tax dollar for things I don't agree with. I could go on forever. And yes I have made a huge jump in class since I was a child. I was raised in the ghetto on Welfare/SSI and now I own my own home, vehicle, and so forth. I also make a very nice wage with benefits including health care. But it was my Socialist beliefs and pride in my work that lead me to where I am. I'm truly a self made man. I reap our current system for as much as I can but I don't feel like a sell out or a Capitalist because in my case I feel I hold true hold true to Marx's theory of my class is being determined by my relationship to the means of production. Like chingchonger pointed out earlier in the thread our mixed economy does support some forms of Socialism. But I also feel I would be a lot further in life by now in a Socialist system. I can only dream that someday we will be a functioning Democratic Socialist country but I know it will never happen in my life time. Most of our population is a victim of our Capitalist system IMO. Damn.......That was my longest post/rant in a while.

So you won't read the bill. You just don't care at all. You're making judgement on something that you haven't even read. Must be blissful.

The New Colossus
"Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset hates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lighting, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
Emma Lazarus, 1883

Thanks, Captain....I knew you could do it.

That is why I inserted the teaser in my post regarding Socialism not working.....I missed your posts. Glad it worked.

And you may be surprised that I agree with many things you said. I don't agree on HOW you arrived at them. For example, I believe the lack of work ethic, the abuse of the social systems, etc. etc. is because many people have embraced the socialistic ideas...provide this, provide that. Why should I do this or that because the Gov will either provide it or do it for me.
