So whats up with the gas prices??? Ours here jumped .20 in less than 24 hours. Went from 2.60 to 2.80. One station still had theirs at 2.60 and people were in line to get gas there.

We're down to $2.59 this week. I haven't seen an increase yet.

For us the gas has final dropped to $2.98 for regular. We've been paying $3.12- 18 all summer long. I still remember paying $0.29 a gallon in 1968. My 64 VW bug could fill up on $3.00 and was good to go all week.

Had got down to $2.73 here.............then the college kids started rolling onto town. HUMMMMMM............they say that has NOOOOO bearing on the price of gas.

Haven't been out today so I don't know if gas went up again or not. But in the paper this AM it said the price increase can be attributed to the emergence of Hurricane Dean. And it's potential impact on gasoline production in areas near the Gulf of Mexico. Also that the refineries are winding down production of summer blends of gasoline for the switch to fall/winter blends on Sept.15. The refineries are reducing output to meet that change. It also said that despite high prices motorist were hitting the pumps to the tune of 7.9 million gallons a day!!!!

Friday night I filled up at 94.3 cents a litre at a major brand station that regularly undercuts the other stations by about 6 cents a litre.

On the way home I passed the gas station near our house that I usually fill up at...100.3 cents a litre (that's around $3.80 a gallon not including exchange rate).

didnt buy any today, but here south of houston when i filled up both cars on friday (SOP with a hurricane knocking) i paid 2.43$ a gallon. course thats with the 'kroger's card' 10 cent price break, and since the refineries are litterally down the road it dont cost them nothing to deliver it...lol i know when we hit 3 a gallon like we have yall northerners up there north of dallas pay a really pretty penny. just hope dean dont do like katrina and hit all our (americas) platforms, or 3 bucks will be cheap, and EVERYONE will drive hhrs and chevy will make them into a hybrid...
