I would do that but traffic around here is quite dangerous for cyclists as NO ONE is used to seeing bikes on the road. The cops will ticket you for riding on the sidewalk so walking is the best option. I can actually cut it down to just a mile by walking, too.

Interesting hypothesis. Please explain how much money he's made while his assets and investments have been tied up in blind trusts? Probably not nearly as much as your next door neighbor has made in his retirement portfolio on oil futures.

The President CANNOT make new laws regarding commodities trade. That's Congress' job. As I recall, gasoline prices have done nothing but increase since the Democrats took power in Congress. Where is their action? Where are their new laws to fix the economy and punish those greedy oil futures investors?

I feel bad for my son who will start driving next year (and me for insurance). I remember my friends and I trying to scrape together $5-10 to put gas in one of our cars to go out on a Friday night!

You may need to change the title of this thread to $12 a gal.

Quit crying, $3.77 is cheapest here for 87 grade.

87 grade is as high as $3.96 here today 5-22-08. went up .17 cents since yesterday. Diesel is out of sight @ $4.79 and up. Then people wonder why food prices and all are going up on everything transported by truck, train etc.

$12 a gallon ain't happenin'. They know the bubble is going to burst soon and they're just trying to suck as much in before they all have to sell off again. Prices will spike just before the Olympics and start going down again fairly quickly after that.

It's already too late for anyone else to get a piece of the pie, so we might as well just ride it out. The media is going to do all it can to instill fear and help the specs raise prices by fueling fears of supply losses and lack of new sources of production. Just like the housing boom brought big money to real estate investments and drove people into expensive homes with street loansharking.

It hasn't killed the rest of the world that has been paying much more than these prices for years, it won't kill us. If you don't like something, change it. Or better yet do something about it. Don't wait for the train to hit ya before you move out of the way. Don't wait for everyone else to jump on board, before YOU do. I was a truck guy, I didn't like fwd or cars. Now I have both all-in-one, and could not be happier getting 45-50% BETTER MILEAGE. EVOLVE or DIE. Quit whinning :)
