Gas prices

$3.00 even is about the cheapest for good quality gas, the cheapie generic is hangin around $2.95 lately. This price hike is starting to kill me again. Lucky for me, my lebaron gets about 27mpg on the freeway and has only a 14gal tank.

It's not entirely OPEC's fault gas costs what it does...
When you pump $30 into your tank, that money is broken up into little pieces that get distributed among several entities. Gas is just like any other consumer product: There's a supply chain and several groups who are responsible for setting the price of the product. The media can sometimes lead you to believe that the price of gas is based solely on the price of crude oil, but there are actually many factors that determine what you pay at the pump.

3.53 for Shell V-Tech 91 octane in San Diego. I wouldn't whine it could be worse - we could be paying Euro prices. If anything blame our selves for being in love with our cars. Maybe we should get the Gov't to fix the problem by banning cars. ...nah!
To borrow words from Charlton Heston's NRA speech (and modded to suit the occasion)...."...Pry the steering wheel from my cold dead hands"

It could be worse, we could have the 1973 Oil Embargo again.
Even/odd days...5 gallon limits....stations with NO gas...lines of cars for blocks.
I guess I'm just weird. I figure that pumping it out of the ground, transporting it to the harbor and putting it on a ship that travels half-way around the planet where it is pumped off, transported to a refinery and turned into diesel, wax, benzene, Vaseline and gasoline, which they then charge us only $3 per gallon for is actually pretty frakkin' amazing.

People pay $1.59 for a liter of water. It was pumped out of the ground, ran thru one filter and bottled. Yet the petro goes thru tons and tons of transportation, refining, and thru numerous companies all adding to the cost. Yet it's really cheaper than the bottled water.
But don't get it twisted... I still don't like the price!
