Does the cost of replacement batteries need to go into the Volt equation? How long will they last?

Chevrolet says the batteries will go 100,000 miles at least, replacement cost will probably be inline with other hybrids at around $8-10,000.

Wow - I'm glad that I do not have to run high octane fuel. I only run 87 octane in my HHR and right now it is running $3.26. If you want 93 octane you ate looking at $3.66 at times.
