GM to announce new vehicle
Is GM on the same path as before (ala Cadillac Cimarron)? They plan to announce a Buick version of the Chevy Cruze to be named the Verano. Since Buick is suppose to be a luxury brand you would assume that the Verano would be an enhanced Cruze. The Cruze starts around $16,300 and tops out at $27,000+ and the new Buick Regal starts around $26,000. So where do they plan to price this new Buick Buick Verano to be announced

I used to have a white 2002 Buick Regal with the big 3.8L V6 engine in it. It wasn't too bad of a car, but I wouldn't have spent $26,000 on it. But I bet the new Regals will be much nicer. They look Japanese or something. Although, it's kinda weird to think they will have 2.0L 4 cylinders. That's like half the size of the motor that was in mine.

I think you're correct, hillsdale.
This is what I spoke about in earlier threads regarding GM's management mentality. THEY ALL THINK ALIKE, if they are bred from the same family.
This is the same philosophy, "fill the model slot and compete with your own model" theory that committed GM to failure over the past 20-30 years.
It appears to me, GM Marketing and Sales people are selling the current Board of Directors some horsepucky again.

Apparently this car has multiple personalities. It's originally an Opel Astra which became a Chinese Buick called Excelle and HRV. It was sold as a rebadged Daewoo Lacetti. Now its going to rebadged as a Buick Verano for the North America market. Why not just sell them as Opel's? I wouldn't mind seeing the Opel nameplate around the States again.
