Yeah, the engine for the Volt, and I believe some other cars will use it too, is going to be built here in Flint. Plus a few Silverado lines have been added in Flint as well.

Not good news... I just can tell you that I won´t buy a car made specifically in Ramos Arizpe México (GM or Chrysler). I´m working in a company that has a plant in Ramos Arizpe (not automotive)... You´ll be shocked if you know how the "quality" is applied there, and almost all the Ramos Arizpe factories have unskilled workers. However, I prefer Mexican cars than Brazilian... These really are POS.

The plants are not 100 years old. How many plants did GM have in 1910?
The plant in GA that was closed in 2008 started production in 1947.

Wanna bet? This is all taken from Wikipedia....

"Buick City was a massive automobile manufacturing complex in the northwest of Flint, Michigan. Elements of the 235 acre (951,000 m²) complex dated from 1904"

"Industrial Ave. Plant. Built no later than 1912 it replaced the original 1908 operation inside a Buick building. It closed around 1976, and was demolished within a couple of years."

"Flint Manufacturing Div./Delphi Flint West/Flint Tool & Die
Chevrolet Ave. Ca. 1913."

Don't just assume I don't know what I'm talking about. Maybe GM hasn't been around in GA as long because that wasn't where they were created...

True as many of the Michigan plants may have been added on to and up dated but they were originally built about 100 years ago.

Some of GM' newer plants are almost 50 years old like Lordstown.

The Spring Hill and a few others are the only real new plants they have.
