in my opinion some of us good ol' boys need to go up there to gm headquarters and tell the receptionist at the front desk to get these ding bats down here now so we can knock a few pot nots on there heads and tell them to leave the hhr alone it is a good vehicle it just needs some tweaking to fix some of its issues

Ok keeping the HHR is the easy part but how do you keep it relevent to make it worth keeping around.
The general public is tired of the present car and to update retro is difficult and a risk. the PT failed here already with too little change. If you change it too much you run the risk of running off present owners.
Sorry but the retro thing is a easy short term fix and the next one is even more difficult to do. The risk of making everyone happy like the first one is very difficult.
It is kind of like a band with a hit album. The second one is always held up to the first one an oftne pails to it.
The HHR has had a good run and it is time to move on with the rest of the market. The sales of retro have dropped everywere accept for the Mustang and Camaro.
Like anything good it has it's time and then it is time to move on. Styling today has a limited shelf life. That is not to say styling cues are bad. They always should incoperate styling cues but to make a car look old is fine just don't depend on it as a long term fix.

I did look under the show car when I saw it. I thought I saw Jazz's face under the car. I think he is gone from the Solstice and making a comeback for Transformers 4.

Suicide doors are cool to look at but can be a pain in real life.
The Granite at least will eliminate the center post to make it easier to get in and out like a Extended cab truck. In an HHR the post would be a large obstical for the use of the rear door.
