Haggling tips needed!

Haggling tips needed!

Gonna be doing some shopping this week. Got two dealers, almost identical options. Gonna get the 0% financing and need some advice on how to get the best deal.

I hate to admit it but most of the time when I see what I want I just buy it.

So let's hear some tips, do's and don'ts!!

Dominate the situation and don't let the sales person push you around. You probably know more about the HHR than the sales person so use that to your advantage. You know what you want so be firm in your offer and don't let then talk you into anything you don't want.

I agree with the Captain, you dictate, and stay in control. You have the final say. If they dont want to lose that comission they will break first. Good Luck!

The other thing is don't let them know your financing from the begining. Work the deal out as if you are paying cash then once you have the price in writing then work out the financing. If you let them know you want to finance the vehicle from the start it gives them too much room to play with the numbers.

I seriously tried to leave the dealership 3 times. I think it's best to work them over and then say, " I'll have to think about it." Definitely at all cost, even if you have to leave, stay in control of the situation. They don't want you to leave without spending that hard earned money. Good luck!

But you don't let them know that. You'll get a way better deal if you try to get a cash price. Trust me, I got screwed on my first car but I never let it happen again.

I did most of my homework from this site:
http://carbuyingtips.com/

I waltzed into quite a few dealerships and could spot right off what lies they were (trying) to feed me.

I'll email you a "Salesmens article". It's too long to post here. I'll also place it on my website for all over the next few days. It sure opened my eyes to the goings on at a car dealership and their techniques.

Do not settle for sticker price!
