This has been a really bad day....

Hey again folks,
Well Dad is awake, awake and dopey, but awake. They are keeping him on the ventilator until at least tomorrow so he's communicating via sign language and a note pad, on which he's already scrawled "I'M NOT HAVING FUN RIGHT NOW!!! GO HOME SOON????".
So far the vital signs are looking OK and his heart is stable, in a day or two the plan is to transfer him from the cardiac ICU to the cardiac rehab wing where he'll stay for about a week or so...maybe less.
It was another close one, and he's not out of the woods yet in the long term, but his doctors are going to argue the point that he may be a viable transplant candidate...we'll have to see on that.
My Mom would like me to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers, and that goes for me and Michelle too. You all are amazing people and we're utterly blown away by your concern.
Well time to get back in the room before a nurse gives me a dirty look for "playing with my phone", take care everyone and take it easy.
Thanks again!

I never venture down to the "Lounge"...so sorry to hear about your dad buddy. Sounds like he's doing better...hopefully he'll continue to improve in the coming days. We'll keep you and your family in our thoughts.

Jay, I'm only a small voice, but I'm in your corner. You have already added to my life here, so don't feel like a stranger, you know? People need outlets, ways to communicate, and this is a good place.
