The motor for the '51 Styleline Special was the 216" straight 6..

Bore & Stroke = 3-1/2" x 3-3/4"
Compression ratio = 6.60
HP = 92 @ 3400 rpms
Torque = 176 @ 1500 rpms
Oil capacity = 5 qts.
Firing Order = 153624
Spark plug gap = .035
Points Gap = .022 Clockwise rotation (as viewed from top).

If you would like any other specs or etc, shoot a PM..

Congrats on the new project.

No Vin Tag on the firewall top (driver side) ?? Would be approx 2" x 4" & 2 rivet holes. I couldn't see it in your pics.

But that's where mine was.

Finding old cars to fix up is awesome.... You're lucky down in Texas you guys don't have road salt to rust your cars away. Something like that would be rusted out up here...

When new the title had the numbers off the motor on it and the VIN was not on the title. Most states changed this in 55 or 56.

Looks like a nice find!

Hi
The structure of the VIN code based on the standards ISO 3779-1983 and ISO 3780.
Standard began work in 1977. Thus, car 1951 year could not have VIN code. At least in its present form.

But look how solid the body is. From what you can see in the pictures, there are no rust holes. Put a new motor in if you the old one can't be fixed, coat of paint, and it's all set!
