Hey CHD, what kind of camera did you get?
#11
Here my 2 cents worth...
1.) Buy as many mega pixels as you can afford or more if possible.
You can always make 'em smaller, but they look like
crap if you make 'em bigger.
2.) Buy rechargeable batteries to fit your camera, AND
keep a spare set of regular Batt's as spares, just in case.
3.) You should convert all pics from Camera format to jpeg
for web use, for a lot of reasons. i.e. file size, compression,
ease of load on the viewer's end, etc.
4.) If you use a card reader as CJ suggests, do your self a huge
favor and do not delete the photos via your computer. It may
confuse your camera and you may think the card has gone bad.
Erase, delete, format. etc on your camera, not the computer.
TRUST ME ON THIS ONE!
In my job, I support over nine newspapers and we have seen it all by now.
We use many brands and types from Nikon D1's to small PointNShoots.
The words of advice above are not absolutes, and some may take issue,
but, as I said, this is what we have found over the last nine years.
MegaPixels = The more you can get is better
Jpegs = Smaller file sizes are better
card readers = fast , but deadly if mis-handled
resolution = more is better
Spare card in Bag = priceless!!
spare batteries in bag = priceless!!!!!!
Deb, you are on the right track, yeahh baby!!!!
