HHR Forums vs Cobalt
So I was looking through the Cobalt Forum (SS/TC) for anything useful, and one thing that I noticed is that many folks posting there don't seem to cut each other much slack. Like if you post something that has already been addressed before, they jump all over the poster for not using "search", and if somebody says something "dumb" they catch no end of harassment from the "experts". We seem to be a bit more laid back and tolerant. Is that age related? Or something that goes along with our "Heritage" preference? The "ignore" feature must get a lot of use on that site.

I think the difference is that a lot of people over there are used to other forums where using the search function is considered proper etiquette. It used to be considered a banning-offense to start a redundant thread on a forum where space and bandwidth are at a premium.
I'd be willing to bet that if more newbs and even veterans of this site would use the search function we'd have a lot less downtime for upgrades and crashes.

Idiots exist everywhere. Some places just have more of them
Honestly though we happen to have a lot of great members that are helpful to the new and not so new members and about reporting posts.

Various forums have many different types of active participants. Many search functions work in strange ways. Not knowing how to word the search, it can be difficult to search for the topic you want. I try to just link the questioned seach to the thread where the topic is covered, rather than giving grief to someone if I can find that thread.
Like others have said, many on the HHR forum are more seasoned individuals.

Clevelandhhrs and Old Lar hit the nails wright on the head. We are just a little further along in the mature area.
I personally am happy to be here with all of you guys. I like to think of us as the HHR family. A mature family.
Though you will find some great info on the Cobalt site!
