HHR SS Update

Hi, everyone,

Just wanted to share some info that I found out today. Remeber that you all said it was going to have like 240 Hp. I found out how and where it's coming from. If I am correct here it looks like for 2007 the Cobalt now offers a stage 2 upgrade for the 2.2 Superchaged. With this kit you get new fuel injectors, new pully system and a ECU cailibration, but after that you get 241 Horses! So what I think is that the HHR SS is going to use this motor with the stage 2 kit to get the Hp to 241. What do you think?

Acutally all sources are pointing at the 2.0 Direct Injection Turbo making 260 horses that SAAB is using in the new 9-5 (i think) and the Solstice/Sky GXP/Red Line versions.... still rumor and speculation as far as I know thus far.

Uhhh...bad news '06 - the Cobalt SS uses a 2.0 engine.

It's 205hp stock, and the "Stage II Kit" is probably for that engine, but it uses a completely different block than the HHR's 2.2 and 2.4L engines.

I think we are going to see either a V6 version, - or perhaps something better!

The SAAB 9-5 uses a 2.3L Turbo and the 9-3 uses 2.0L Turbo.

I think this is great if its true. I have purchased my HHR for Style and 30 MPG. Now if it is going to have all that power I might only be able to drive it on payday, due to the cost of fuel. I can see it now. What do you hear about mileage. Now that would be Big News. Style, Power & 30 MPG. Cool!
