I don't know if any of you in the other regions if its as a big of a deal as it is in western pennsylvania. Since im in high school its pretty important. We are 8-0 and looking to have a 3rd season undefeated.We play our biggest rival this friday night.Also ranked #1 in the state in class double a.

I come from a small town too, we were 3A so yes HS football will allways be big to me.

The Air Force transferred us to the panhandle of Florida in 1992. We ended up buying a house 2 blocks from the high school and listened to the crowds and the band every week. We started going to games when my boys were in grade school. Then I watched my one son play for 4 years while the other performed in the band. Now they're off to college and I still go to games. But now I'm a free agent and go to the best game in town every week.

It's a social event in small towns and the main subject we talk about at work on Monday. One of us always have a son on one of the local teams. Besides at this level, they're still playing for the fun of it and not for "big money"!
