I felt it here in North Central Missouri as well. I woke up to the sound of the handles on our dresser clinking. Pretty weird stuff around here. The dogs in the area were going nuts. Glad no one was hurt and no major damage to speak of. Hopefully this is not a sign of things to come from the New Madrid Fault, which, according to scientists, could go at any time.

Even though "earthquakes" is one of our "seasons", we never get used to them since we don't know when they are going to hit. So I understand being scared by it!
My house was built in the 1920's in the traditional California "bungalow" style--I figure if it hasn't fallen in almost 90 years, it'll withstand a few more...
5.4 is still nothing to sneeze at--especially if you aren't used to them! Hope no one was hurt too bad, but it did seem to have been felt far and wide!

THERE IT GOES AGAIN!!!
10:18am... Major aftershocks!!!
I'm on the top floor of our office building at work and we're shaking again.
I was on the phone with a customer from Kentucky who said "here it goes again" at the same time my office started rumbling and shaking here in St. Louis.
