How dumb am I?

True story-just happened.
after washing and waxing the SS, for a car show tomorrow, I took off my jeans and put them in the wash, along with the rest of it, and went back to watch the NASCAR race.
During one of the cautions, I went out took clothes out of the washer and put them in the dryer, went back inside to continue watching the race. just before I lay down on the coutch, I heard a engine start up, and thought "funny that car sounds like mine" but lay down on the coutch.
A few mins later Loretta came in and said "Why is the SS running? I got up surprised, went out in the garage and sure enought the SS was running, all by itself. I wnet back in my room to get my keys, surprise no keys. Went back out checked inside the car, no keys. Loretta said "why don't you check the dryer. Well, the keys were in my jeans all along, and even went through the wash cycle. I finally shut the engine off, surprised it started up in the first place. I do have remote start, and I guess the tumbling in the dryer, started the engine. I'm still laughing about this, and Loretta is still shaking her head, wondering what kind of idiot she lives with. Talking

Good thing it wasn't a crook, your SS might be gone..

PS: I'm still laughing, but I guess when you clean your ride, you are very thorough..

That's a good one..

It's a good thing your remote didn't get ruined in the washer. I would think if a remote got too wet, that might fry it. The dryer probably wouldn't hurt it any.

You should get the "cleanest car" award at the show at least......

Send that into Reader's Digest - they have a column for that type of stuff and you might get a hundred bucks. That is one great story!

Most people wash their cars... but few make sure to wash their keys too! LOL

I would think it shorted from the water intrusion. The odds of it tumbling in the dryer, hitting the lock button and then holding the remote start button, would be astronomical.

I was thinking the same thing, but somehow it started the motor.
Took the fob apart this afternoon, and it still wet inside, and does'nt work. Dryed it out, but looks like I'll have to get a new battery for it. "Moon"
