For us it's the daily driver (well, it will be after I pick it up on Tuesday )

We wanted something that was like a stationwagon but not a minivan

Originally we were looking at getting an Equinox, but then when the HHR came out, it was "There's our next vehicle!!!".

Second car for me. The Suburban is first but when gas prices spike or I just want to show off in something cool, I take the HHR

I have family in St. Louis and So Florida so any trip is a long one. Also, my son goes to college 300 miles away and I need to either take or pick him up 8 times a year. At least half of each trip, I'm traveling alone. My 98 Ford Windstar was approaching 100K and I was afraid it would start breaking down on the interstate. I wasn't really ready to buy but when I qualified for 0% financing I figure it was a sign. I didn't know if 0% financing would ever come back again.

I only travel 7 miles to work and kept my van which I need to drive occasionally so the miles are accumulating slowly. After 4 months, I have only 3,800 miles on the HHR. I take my two mutts with me when I run errands. They love to hang their heads out the back windows. Wish I could purchase a rug that fit over the back seats when they're fold down. That would keep the dogs from sliding!

Why I Bought My Hhr

TO BE HONEST I WAS A CAR SALESMAN AT A FORD DEALER AND WE WOULD SIT AND LAUGHT AT THE HHR AND HOW UGLY IT WAS. (DIDN'T KNOW BETTER I WAS WORKING FOR FORD) BUT THAN I WAS HIRED AS A SALESMAN FOR CHEVY AND THATS WHEN I REALLY GOT MY HANDS ON THE HHR. I DROVE FORD TRUCKS FOR MOST MY YOUNG LIFE BUT THERE WAS JUST SOMETHING ABOUT THE HHR. ANY TIME WE HAD TO RUN SOME WHERE FOR WORK I DROVE A HHR AND I FELL IN LOVE. I EVEN SOLD 2 OF THE SPRING EDITIONS AND A HALF DOZEN MORE BEFORE I BOUGHT MINE. SO NOW I USE IT AS A DAILY DRIVER AND IT DOES PRETTY WELL WITH HAULING STUFF. NOW MY PARENTS ARE LOOKING AT ONE AND THEIR EVEN GOING TO TAKE MINE TO SEE MY BROTHER IN GURTON, CT. SO THE HHR IS MORE THAN A DAILY DRIVER, WORK TRUCK, PET CARRIER, OR ANYTHING ESLE YOU MAY CALL IT . IT IS TRULY PART OF MY FAMILY.

I use mine as a fun all around car. I use it alot for running around and doing my estimates and alot of local car get togeathers. I get alot of questions from my customers about it. Most of them love it even a few PT people like it and said they wish now they bought one. I joke and say its NEVER to late to trade that mistake in lol... I put ALOT of miles on it and thats one reason i bought it (gas prices)

Wow. Things change in a month.

Now the Suburban is a trip car, stowed away safely in the garage. The HHR is now my wife's daily driver because she sold her Hyundai. And me, well I got my dream car, a Camaro SS.

Once the HHR SS comes out I'm sure things will change again.

I drive the HHR to/from work during the week. The wifes drives her MPV. On the weekends we take the HHR cause it's better on gas. Unless we are taking a trip, then we use the MPV cause I've already put a DVD system in it.

I think I got that right.
