I ordered an HHR because I drive over 100 miles a day, and getting less than 20MPG on the highway in a land yacht isn't that friendly on my wallet.

The HHR will be a daily driver, and my Marquis will be my project car.

My Boss got rid of my Company Truck and asked me to pick out a new car with better gas milage as I travel all over Texas for work. I almost got the Scion XB then test drove the HHR and I was sold. He bought it for me that day and I drove it home!

They pay the payments, Insurance and Gas and I get to fix it up any way I want! So not a bad deal.

I bought mine for several reasons:

1)my daily driver, a 1994 Lincoln Mark VIII was getting 26 mpg, which RULES...but was racking up mileage like a pile of doggie do racks up flies.

2)I was in the market for something new(er) with a COOL factor(cant drive a me-too car)

3)wanted something that had enough power to keep me *satisfied*, as long as it had #2 reason to go with it

4)had to have a "following". I like individuality, but I dont like forging my own trail in to the unkown.

5)had to be less than $15k out the door.

6)had to get BETTER fuel mileage than my Lincoln

7)had to be FUN to drive/own

8)had to have a look cool enough to keep me happy as it aged.

9)could NOT be a convertible. Security was a big priority.

10)had to be inexpensive to own/maintain.

when I saw the HHR, I loved it. When I did my homework on the HHR, I learned enough about it to keep investigating. when I drove a HHR, I was pleased. when I priced the HHR, I was SOLD on ALL counts.

2006 2LT with all options(less leather/heated seats) with 32k on it, for $14,500....SOLD...we have a WINNAAAHHHHH.

since ownership(12/31/07) I have put near 6k miles on it, spent $400 on new ebony seat covers, ebony carpet, and floormats, and am avg 29-30 mpg during my 130 mi. round trip commute...

I now have a semi-custom ebony AND gray interior clad dark Silver 2006 2LT...

Our HHR

We got our HHR because our 1995 Lincoln Town Car was needing a lot of work soon and wanted something that gets better gas mileage

Save money on fuel
cost of money saved on gas pays for 'Lotte' by trading in Tahoe

Mainly for errands and to transport me to workouts and participate in
1/2 marathons, marathons and triathlons. It fits my handcycle and 1 person no problem better than my Tahoe did.
As for the looks, well lets face it that's an added bonus. I got the panel truck I always wanted and am having a BLAST !

All of the above

I got mine a second vehicle because gas was killing me with my one ton four door dually. I still have my dually but only drive it for trade shows or picking up lumber etc. I wrecked my truck so I rented an HHR for about 45 days while it was getting repaired just to make sure I liked it.
I was spending over $100 per week and I do not drive much. Now with lower gas prices maybe $12.50 a week? Huge improvement, I paid cash for the car but that difference would more than make a car payment.
I wanted something with good gas mileage but also something I liked the looks of and was fun to drive. I have lowered it and debadged it, new wheel and tires and like it even more.
After driving a big truck for years it was easier than I thought to get used to.
I used to park my dually near the end of parking lots because it was easier to get in and out. Now I park my HHR near the end of parking lot is does not get as many door dings...... Still have to walk my lazy tail.

All of the above for me.

I use my HHR as my daily driver and a work car. For my first 14 years of driving I always had a small sporty car with a manual tranny. Then with kids arriving and needing more space I switched to SUV's. After 12 years of that I was ready to go back to the small sporty car. When gas prices shot up I made the plunge and I'm really happy to be in the HHR. It is a fun car to drive, to mod and I now spend 50% less on fuel.

This is my 2nd HHR... just traded the 2006 for a 2008. Bought it for a daily driver (almost 100 miles per day) and also to tow behind our RV. The HHR is a great 'toad'; easy to tow 4-wheel down.

I wish I could sell my Jeep Liberty and then would buy yet another HHR for my wife.
