OK time for me to redeem myself 
I didn't mean the question was a tough one, obviously it wasn't, but given the circumstances, on stage on front of hundreds, and many more on TV, it was a question that could catch an 18 year old off guard. Would the scrutiny be worse if she had said the teachers unions and public schools system is failing? Can you imagine the firestorm that would create? Her answer on the Today Show was much better in which she said "I would love to re-answer that question," Upton said. "Well personally, my friends and I, we know exactly where the United States is on our map. I don't know anyone else who doesn't. And if the statistics are correct, I believe there should be more emphasis on geography." Politically correct, but a safe answer.
